Kiss of The Highlander is a well crafted book. Karen Marie Moning perfectly put together a sequence of events that led the reader on a journey. This story had me laughing and crying out loud. At times I was even screaming into my Kindle. This is not the first time I have read this story and will not be my last. This is a must read again story.

Drustan Mackeltar has been gypsy cursed and been asleep for over 500 years. He is woken by Gwen. He is confused but because he has always been a ladies man he is more than happy to get acquainted.

This book then turns into Drustan trying to get Gwen to believe he is not crazy and from the past. It takes some work on his part and they develop a relationship that turns into love.

Their relationship takes a turn when she travels to the past. Gwen now finds herself in the position of having to convince that other Drustan that she isn't crazy and somehow must help save his twin brother. And somewhere in this whole mess he may fall in love with her all over again.

Kiss of The Highlander is fast paced and beautifully written. From beginning to end you are cheering for these two. This story is also unique because you feel like you have two books in one. This is definitely a book to be read over and over.

I have read this book 3 or 4 times now. There is a perfect blend of wit, humour and romance. The ending I'd forgotten about and it made me cry a second time. This still stands as one of my favourites.

This is my first ever audiobook.. I was worried that I may not get as involved with a story while, as I would if I was reading it. So I decided to test the theory out on one of my ALL time FAVOURITE books. I love this book and have reread it many times... It makes me laugh, tear up (well the first few times I read it) and just long to keep reading. The time travel part is done well, and both leads are great characters. This book while technically book 4 in the series does go with the next (The dark Highlander) as it's about Drustan's Brother. However the rest in the series don't really need to be read in order. I have my favourites of the series (4,5 and 7)

So how does the audio stand up against the written version? Awesomely! Gigante is a fantastic reader for all the male roles. His different accents are great, and it brought a new feeling to the story for me. On the flip side, I found his female lead voice hard to get used to. When her roles were up, I didn't picture Gwen the same, while I read her, I find her more sarcastic and quippy and an under-the-breath kind of mutterer.. which I found didn't get protrayed as well when Gigante read her. To me she came across more flighty or air-headish due to the voice. But honestly though, I got used to his female voice and it isn't something I would count as a reason to not listen to this book again. I am sure I will use this audio copy many more times. I have read everything Karen Marie Moning has written, I am very tempted to repurchase the fever series in audio as well.. I see Gigante and a Ross will read toghether on some of those books. That would probably be awesome!
This book is volume 4 of a 7 book series and is directly connected to vol 5 & 7, and a small but crucial component to the successful conclusion to book 6. The MacKeltars are my favorite subgroup of this series for the characterizations, the upbeat moods and the plot lines. The relationships between the hero and the heroine come together fairly quickly and it becomes an "Us against Them" plot line throughout the stories that is fun to read. And while it is possible to read only the last four volumes without volumes 1, 2 & 3; the small details, hints at backgrounds/histories as well as setting information provided in the first three volumes adds significant insight to the settings and subplots in the later 4 volumes. Most of us who have been around this earth for awhile can read these volumes and think "I knew someone" similiar in temperment to any of the heroes and/or heroines portrayed. And although their personalities are significantly different, they also mesh together credibly.
Unlike her later books of freakiness, this is the beginning story of what was to become. A true love story, a paranormal love story, a time travel love story, and the stepping stone for quite a series. Drunstan and Gwen were 500 years separated twice but love wins out. I love this book (and the first parts of this
series) until it gets weird with the fever books. Highland time travel and Scottish history are some of my favorites. HEA stories that standalone could be any of the first group even though the first two characters are repeated in many of the future stories. Happy reading.
I enjoyed this fourth book a lot but not as much as the first three. It was a time travel story packed with everything you expect from Ms Moning. I was fine up until the last chapter and there she went as far left field as one could, even for time travel. Not to give anything away, (not that you would get it anyway) but would you have a dead\living person in your house for 500 years and welcome the first stranger who drove up to your castle? It's a little far fetched and I actually lost my interest, BUT, you must read this book for all the other chapters and I think it connects to book five. I could have done without the graphic physics, geometry, quadrants, dimensional planes etc. I just skimmed over it; too much information. Be that as it may, I do recommend this book for you to read. It is "different" but good. Until next time.
