So, so hot. So, so heartfelt. I love Hector. Big, grumpy sexy (yummy coiled back muscles while he plays drums, YES PLEASE) teddybear with super super hot skills in the bedroom...and, ahem, other places. And Tara, I love her, too. Talented, confused, lovely Tara who gives it as good as she gets. It's so obvious they should be together, but it's so obvious why it might not work, too. And by the end I was speed-reading to find out what would happen.I've always wanted to go to Comic-Con, and now I want to go even more, based on the way the book describes it. Plus, it was awesome to be back with the cast of More than Music (and More than Exes) and I loved seeing the friends all together again. I'm already dying for the next book in the series, Behind the Seams!

More Than Comics Chasing The Dream Volume 2 Elizabeth Briggs 9781507859377 Books Reviews
More Than Comics has a lot of what I like in romance. Tata and Hector are friends who become lovers, there’s a lot of humor and there’s believability. This is probably my favorite story thus far in the Chasing The Dream series. Tara and Hector are very likable and easily relatable. I hope to see more of them, even if it’s a little here and there, in the next books.
Set at Comic-Con, I was so excited to read More Than Comics. I can be an outspoken geek when it comes to books, music, and comics. Pretty much everything you can think of to “geek out” to, I do, so seeing a book set in that world, I just knew I had to read it. Tara and Hector’s book, Misfit Squad, reminded me a lot of some comics and shows I’ve watched so it was easy to get behind. That’s something I really love about this series, Elizabeth Briggs has taken popular shows or movies and made a fictional version of them so it’s easy to know what she’s talking about, easy to relate to it. It’s quite genius.
Like the preview novel, I do feel More Than Comics ran a little long. Towards the end I found myself a little bored. I don’t really know why this is. I connected to the characters and I wanted them to get their HEA, but something just slows down the pace. But don’t get me wrong, I still like the characters, and their stories. I want to learn more about all the friends and their journeys.
More Than Comics might have been Tara and Hector’s story but I feel like it was more than that. When you finally take stock in your life, decide what you want, and who you want, you’ll be so much happier.

I fell absolutely head over heels in love with the first book in this series, "More Than Music". There, I was introduced to a plethora of amazing secondary characters that intrigued me enough to want to read their stories, so as soon as I finished that book I immediately bought this one and binge read it through the night.
Hector is the drummer for "Villain Complex" and comes across as the most gruff guy at first but the way he softened up (eventually) towards Maddie in book one when she nearly broke up the band, showed me that he had a deeper, more sensitive side to himself which is one of the most irresistible qualities in a book hero for me. I can't honestly say that his story was AS good as Maddie and Jared's because that's like comparing Bella and Edward to any number of busted Kardashian pairings but Hector held his own in the romance department and the book was enjoyable overall.
"More Than Comics" hit pretty close to home for me with Hector and Tara being online friends for years that finally meet in person after all this time. I had a similar experience that was often reflected in this story and tugged me a little deeper than it might for most. Especially with their worries of if their shared connection online would translate into reality. Luckily for these two (and unlike my story) it did translate but there are a lot of obstacles to overcome for the passionate duo. I loved both Tara's and Hector's journey as individuals throughout the story. Tara's struggle for independence away from using a man as a fall back plan was something I admired about her. Hector's personal journey of feeling worthy and struggling with a past wound that scarred him pretty badly made me choke up a few times. Although Tara wasn't my favorite heroine ever, she did have some qualities I liked and together they made a great team. I loved how the band got behind them and helped open Hector's eyes up to the possibilities.
One of the best things about these books is how well the author shapes the dynamic of each character and their relationship to the band, which is the center focus of the series. Everybody has a different personality they bring to the table and it works so well to balance out all the other characters. The pacing of each scene was effortless and I'm always amazed at how authors write such fluid scenes with so much dialogue and passion packed into each chapter. This book felt a little like closure for the main members of the band who have found what they were looking for but there are a few outside secondary characters that have stories connected to the series, so I'm interested in seeing what those are about. Briggs writes a great romance full of laughter and passion, mild drama and deep bonds that make you believe in the kind of unshakeable love these characters find in each other. I'm a sucker for a great romance and Briggs has me eating out of the palm of her hand. If you want something sexy, fun and romantic without the over dramatized angst, these are some great books to satisfy you.
I love all the books in this series. Hector is a mystery and I am so glad he has his own story. Hector and Tara have been online friends and colleagues for years. They write comic books, or Tara writes and Hector does the artwork. He is a brilliant artist and Tara is lucky to have him. Over the years Hector has fallen in love with her and can't seem to get her out of his mind or heart. He has tried dating but it never goes past the first date because the women are not her. Tara has had boyfriends, even trying to get serious with the last one. But even after a year, she just doesn't seem to get that special feeling with him, he isn't Hector. Finally they meet at Comicom and wow, the sparks fly. Secrets are kept, words go unsaid, and the sex is off the charts epic. These two can't seem to keep their hands off each other, but... they don't say how they feel until it's almost too late. A HEA story, a wonderful romance.
So, so hot. So, so heartfelt. I love Hector. Big, grumpy sexy (yummy coiled back muscles while he plays drums, YES PLEASE) teddybear with super super hot skills in the bedroom...and, ahem, other places. And Tara, I love her, too.
