Julia Riley thinks she’s happy. The executive director of Boston’s Fledger Foundation, she and her wife, Carrie, are raising three children, one from Julia’s first marriage…but being content is not the same as being happy.
Katie Brennan is the popular host of a network television morning show. She has two children and a husband who plays major-league baseball. Rumors of her husband’s infidelity are troubling, but she knows how often the media reports innuendo and half-truths instead of facts.
When the two women collaborate on a fundraising program for a new diversity center, they immediately strike up a friendship, one that only grows stronger when Katie discovers her husband has indeed been unfaithful.
As Katie’s marriage fails, she realizes she is intensely attracted to her friend. Surprised by her own feelings, Katie distances herself from Julia, straining their relationship.
For her part, Julia needs time to heal the wounds of her marriage. She’s not sure Katie will accept a romantic relationship, however, a doubt that gives her pause.
Before either woman can move on, they need to find and accept themselves. Love might feel like falling through shooting stars, but sometimes it takes time for the stars to fall.

There truly isn't a book that Nancy Ann Healy has written that I have not enjoyed. This one holds a special place in my heart. You can tell it is special to her or at least that is the way I feel while reading it. I received it yesterday, started reading at 9pm was on chapter 17 by midnight. And finished up this morning. Keep in mind this is not anything like her Alex and Cassidy series. But don't let that stop you from reading a wonderful novel. I don't want to say too much.. Because so many people give everything away in the review.. So stop reading now and just buy it. You will be glad you did. Also the kindle version will be uploaded soon. And yes I'll be purchasing that also!Product details

I just finished this for the second time and realized my initial review was woefully inadequate. This story has depth and passion that few novels in this genre ever touch. Not really a fan of the other stuff she has written but I am of this.. So worth the read.
Very complex story of two women falling in love. While I normally would not agree with this type of thing, falling in love with someone else when your quite obviously involved in a long term relationship, I can see after reading this book how it is possible. You can not help who you fall in and out of love with and when.... But it makes you hopeful that when it happens, that you will finally find your one true love....
I related to this book and the main character (Julia) on so many levels and it really brought home some hard truths. This story is well written and at times the characters are infuriating, yet lovable. I will not reveal the story line, however, I will say that the author hit the proverbial nail on the head in so many relationships. I laughed, I shook my head in agreement and in places I came close to tears while reading. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story and look forward to more books by Nancy Ann Healy.
If I could give this book 10 stars, I would. In fact, if Ms Healy could go back to the 30 years that passed by at the end of the story and fill in the details, I would love to know more about Julia and Katie. Just as she does with her other series (Cassidy and Alex), she leaves the reader wanting more. Write On, please. The worlds you create are portals where your readers can pass thru into awesome stories about mature women!
Wow. This book broke my heart and put it back together again. The emotions in this book are raw and the story is deep. I loved the way Nancy Healy took you through these characters' journey. Excellent read!
I honestly can say I loved this book. I found Julia and Katie and their families easy to love. I read it non-stop I just couldn't put it down. One of my favorite love stories. I loved the honesty of two families emotional journey.
If you like a good love story, and this was so much more than that, then you will love this book.
I also enjoyed the Alex and Cassidy series also by this author. She has a way with making you feel like you are really there and have a personal interest in everything working out for her characters.
I will be recommending this book to everyone i know.
This story shows how it really should be with our exes around us. Unfortunately it's a dream and I did't like it to wake up from this dream. The story is about real love, pure friendship and a warm family. It was very frustrating to watch Julia and Katie fighting with their feelings and I wanted to give them a kick in the ass. This story goes further than most love stories. You get to see a glimpse of what happened decades after the first kiss. For me, this part of the story could be longer. It is unfortunate that I can't give 10 stars because this book was awesome.
